‘That`s a major achievement for a band that has been around as long as Simple Minds,’ Sanctuary senior VP of international sales and marketing Julian Wall says. ‘We worked hard on setting the release up before the summer, and the band did a terrific amount of promotion work.’

Simple Minds signed with Sanctuary worldwide last year after albums on Arista, Virgin, Chrysalis and Eagle-Rock, not to mention A&M in the United States. Black & White 050505 will come out in February in North America. Wall believes the European success provides ‘a very positive platform for the US release.’
