Sarah Smiles!

The latest addition to the live line up for the on going Graffiti Soul tour, Sarah Brown made a surprising and very confident debut with Simple Minds last night In Copenhagen. Bringing not only her vocal talents but also a powerful visual presence to the over two hour set, it was immediately obvious that Sarah was an inspired choice who will easily fit in well with the Glasgow band.

First contacted by SM less than a week ago – and therefore without much advance notice or rehearsal time – Sarah found herself onstage much earlier than anticipated, as originally she was set to debut much later this week in Amsterdam. However after a lengthy and intense two hour soundcheck at the venue in Denmark, where she was coached primarily by Andy Gillespie and Eddie Duffy, it then was decided that she would join the band on stage an hour so later.

Audiences looking forward to the upcoming and ongoing Simple Minds live dates are bound to be impressed with Sarah as Jim Kerr was when he first saw Sarah accompany Roxy Music during the legendary and influential band’s last world tour. Kerr commented. “Sarah Brown is a great singer and an all round class act” Through having already toured with Roxy, Duran, and Simply Red, she obviously has much experience and brought much to their shows. Our fans give so much and deserve only the best from our live performances. Sarah will certainly help us deliver more of that.”
