Thank You!

Thank You!

Starting almost seven weeks ago in a raw and bitterly cold Dublin, and due to end this weekend in what is predicted to be a gloriously sunny Ipswich, I cannot recall any previous tour being so good. That of course is really saying something bearing in mind how much we have enjoyed touring throughout our career.
The highlight for me was witnessing how much the band (musicians) have raised the bar over the last weeks and I really believe that the current Simple Minds set has superseded any previous as a result of their effort. GG, our live sound engineer, and Stephen Pollard who designs the set lighting, produced great work every night, we owe so much credit to them and the entire production crew who share in our philosophy that every single gig has to be given a full 100% effort.
Of course there is more to our live events that what is seen on stage. The management and agent who work for months in advance, prepare it all so well to the extent is that really all is taken care of and all we have to worry about is turning up and “doing our thing”. Nevertheless, we appreciate the efforts of all who work on our behalf, not forgetting the wardrobe, caterers, merchandisers, and drivers.
Finally, what point would there be in any of this without people turning up to watch and listen? No point is the answer. But thankfully all the way from Dublin and continuing throughout, we walked out on stage every night to be met with venues that were packed with people who seemed delighted in to be the under the same roof as us. If only I had the skill to describe to you even remotely how great that feels. Or for that matter, how much we appreciate those welcomes.
And so, until November when we will return to the UK and do it all again, once again, thank you very, very much!
