Newly compiled in a 5CD box set and special red vinyl limited edition, this definitive reissue features standout tracks including ‘Alive and Kicking’, ‘Sanctify Yourself’. Plus, for the very first time, ‘Don’t You (Forget About Me)’ has been included in the vinyl track listing.

• 5CD Box Set – includes the original album, B-sides, rarities, extended mixes, and the full Live In The City Of Light concert over two discs. The set also contains a 36-page booklet with rare photos, interviews, and a track-by-track guide from Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill.
• Limited Edition Red Vinyl – pressed on red vinyl and housed in a gatefold sleeve featuring Anton Corbijn’s iconic photo of the band at Live Aid. This version also includes ‘Don’t You (Forget About Me)’ on the album for the first time.

Once Upon a Time was the seventh studio album by Simple Minds, originally released in 1985.

Although already successful in their native UK and Europe, the band had also now become popular in the US, mainly due to the success of “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” which appeared on The Breakfast Club soundtrack and had become a No.1 hit there. However, the band left the track off the album ‘Once Upon a Time’… until now!

Four singles were taken from the album; “Alive and Kicking” (UK No. 7, US #3), “All the Things She Said” (UK No. 9, US #28), “Sanctify Yourself” (UK No. 10, US #14), and “Ghost Dancing” (UK #13). The album topped the UK charts, and peaked at No.10 on the US charts (5 consecutive weeks in Top 10 of Billboard and 16 weeks in Top 20).
