As of this week Simple Minds have confirmed that they will be touring Australia and New Zealand with INXS. The series of dates beginning in Perth on 17th of March are somewhat of a surprise as the band has recently turned their attention to creating material for their next album which at this point has no set release target.
Having only recently toured OZ and NZ after a colossal seventeen year gap, the idea of touring with INXS was initiated at the end of last year by Australian concert promoter Andrew Mc Manus, who sees this tour as a perfect opportunity for Simple Minds to quickly build further on their renewed successful live reputation.
Joining Simple Minds and INXS for the tour will be two time Grammy winners Arrested Development.
After this short tour Simple Minds will return to Europe where all energies will be focused on continued songwriting and recording commitments.
