The annual Summer Marathon Series on 88.3FM The Sting comes to a close 8/28 with Some Sweet Day 2008 – The Simple Minds Marathon. For 18 hours, hosts Todd Richards and Aaron Burke will play the music of Simple Minds: From the earliest days as Johnny And The Self-Abusers to the latest album Black And White 050505, and everything in between.
While 88.3FM The Sting celebrates it’s 50th year in 2008, this also marks 20 years since Simple Minds first appeared on the Summer Marathon schedule (in a half-day pairing with INXS!). In 1998, Todd Richards began a series of marathons that the listeners named “Some Sweet Day” from singer Jim Kerr’s famous phrase. We look forward to celebrating Simple Minds 30 year history Thursday 8/28/08 starting at 7am USA EST (4am USA PST, 12pm UK)
